Obtaining a CSA harvest share from Oregrownian means eating locally and seasonally. The initial spring boxes begin in early June and can be expected to consist of cool-weather crops. Summer boxes are abundant with juicy warm-weather fruits and veggies, and crop diversity only increases into late-summer and fall. Typically you can expect to see more of some crops and less of others than may be expected due to weather and other factors beyond our control.

Weekly CSA shares are a great value when compared to purchasing organic produce from stores. Local freshness and quality means you know and trust the source of your food. Becoming a CSA member gives you a chance to support and sustain local food sources and small-scale organic farms.

2008 Season Full CSA Share - $400.00

(14-16 weeks, last week in June through mid/late-September)

Each week throughout the summer shareholders will receive thier harvest box by either coming to the farm for pick-up or coming to the Gorge Grown Farmer's Market on thursdays for pick-up. A typical box feeds two grown adults for one week depending on eating habits and family size. Some shareholders may plan to split their share with a friend. Organic farm eggs from UVF may also show up in boxes a few times throughout the season (vegetarians notify ahead of time).

they sold to several restaurants in the gorge and at the Hood River Gorge Grown Farmer's Market. Charged and ready to undergo another good season, Oregrownian will be providing locally grown organic produce to CSA members, farmer's market shoppers in Hood River, restaurants, caterers, and friends.

Oregrownian strives to create a balanced and sustainable small-scale ecosystem in which to raise crops. With a true passion for organic and bio-intensive farming practices the backbone of the farm's fertility is well-ripened organic compost, green manures, and crop rotation. The scale of production and health of the farm is abundantly refelcted in the quality of the crops. They raise over 40 different crops and have access to organic eggs, pastured poultry, and transitionally organic 'Jonnagold Apples' produced by the friendly neighbors at UVF.
